Turn On Service                                 


If you are transferring your KCP&L account to a new address, or you want to start/stop service with KCP&L, please contact KCP&L Customer Care by calling 816-471-5275 or 888-471-5275.

We appreciate your business. Whether you're a new customer or returning to KCP&L, we want to activate your service as quickly and conveniently as possible.

Please allow at least two working days notice (Monday - Friday) to turn on your electricity. Requests received on major holidays or weekends will be taken care of during the following week.

If a bill is owed from a previous address, the bill will need to be paid to connect service.
Depending on past credit history, a deposit may be assessed to your account.
You do not have to be present for your service to be connected, but access to your meter is required.
