Energize your career with an internship at KCP&L.
Are you a smart, strategic thinker with a strong work ethic and a desire to work in the energy field? Are you looking for a well-paying job that also offers real-world, hands-on experience? Would you like to make a meaningful impact on the community?
KCP&L is looking for people just like you.
Whether you’re studying engineering, information technology, finance or marketing and communications, we have an opportunity for you.
What you can expect
KCP&L interns dive right into meaningful projects. They receive mentorship from professionals in their focus areas. They benefit from real-world experience. And they have an inside track for fulltime jobs with KCP&L—students in good standing after interning with us for at least two years typically receive an offer for employment after graduation.
Over the course of our 10-week summer internship (June 1 – August 7), interns experience:
- Meaningful, mentor-led projects
- Presenting to our executive staff and peers
- Tours of our facilities, including power-generation sites
- Networking events at sites such as Kaufmann Stadium
- Training with an image consultant on how to dress for success in a business setting
