There has been a great deal of recent discussion and debate about how best to meet the nation’s and region’s future energy needs. KCP&L is currently in the final phase of our Comprehensive Energy Plan, which includes significant investments in energy efficiency, a new high-efficiency coal plant, renewable energy, air quality improvements, and distribution and transmission upgrades. Recently, KCP&L has supported policy changes to increase investments in energy efficiency as well as renewable energy and net metering initiatives in Missouri and Kansas. Congress is currently working on proposed climate change legislation and renewable energy initiatives. KCP&L has been an active participant in the many of these policy discussions on energy and sustainability at the local, state and federal level. These documents are intended to help our customers better understand our perspective on many of today’s most important energy issues. |
