KCP&L Crews Assist Public Service Company

KCP&L CREW MEMBERS TO ASSIST PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY WITH STORM RESTORATION EFFORTS 
 
When: Wednesday, July 24 
4 p.m. (access to facility at 3:45 p.m.) 
 
Where: KCP&L Dodson Service Center 
8619 Prospect Ave. 
Kansas City, Mo. 
 
What: Today at 4 p.m., nearly 40 KCP&L employees will depart to assist Public Service Company (PSO) in Tulsa, Oklahoma with restoration efforts following severe storms that hit that area this morning. Currently, PSO has approximately 89,000 customers who remain without power. KCP&L crews will be repairing poles and replacing downed wire. 
 
The KCP&L team consists of linemen and several support personnel, including safety employees, managers, supervisors and mechanics from throughout KCP&L’s service territory. Crews are prepared to stay and help for up to five days. 
 
“KCP&L is proud to be assisting PSO during the restoration efforts following these severe storms,” said Duane Anstaett, KCP&L vice president of Delivery. “Our crews will work diligently to restore power to customers as quickly and safely as possible. They will take the same award-winning outage restoration work to Oklahoma that they use here in our area.”
