KCP&L Announces Winners of Community MVP Scholarship Program

Kansas City, Mo. (December 4, 2015) – KCP&L is excited to announce the winners of the first annual KCP&L Community MVP Scholarship Program. The scholarship program is for teens, ages 13 to 18, who give back to their communities. More than 130 nominations were submitted from all across the KCP&L region. Ten finalists were selected, each receiving a $1,000 scholarship with the grand prize winner taking home a $5,000 scholarship. Additionally, all of the finalists were invited to the KCP&L Plaza Lights Ceremony on Thanksgiving Day to be honored on stage along with an invitation to a one-of-a-kind Kansas City Chiefs game day experience in January.

  • Ashley Hoerl, Kansas City, Missouri - Finalist
  • Cooper Link, Kansas City, Missouri - Finalist
  • Jaida Ramsdell, Olathe, Kansas - Finalist
  • Laraib Sani, St. Joseph, Missouri - Finalist
  • Chloe Schade, Lenexa, Kansas - Finalist
  • Amelia Smith, Kansas City, Missouri - Finalist
