Warm up a Heart with KCP&L this holiday season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 15, 2015) — Are you looking for a last minute gift and a thoughtful new way to show your love this holiday season? Warm up a heart with KCP&L’s Energy Gift and Dollar-Aide programs, which provide support for those who need help covering their utility bills.

“When friends or family members are struggling financially, the best gift sometimes is peace of mind,” said Elizabeth Danforth, KCP&L Director of Public Affairs. “KCP&L’s Energy Gift and Dollar-Aide programs can be a meaningful way to help others in need and remove this stress. You can even give anonymously.”

An Energy Gift provides an opportunity to help a friend or family member. This gift lets you help someone by making a payment toward their KCP&L bill. You do not have to be a KCP&L customer yourself to purchase this gift, anyone can purchase an Energy Gift for one of KCP&L’s customers.

Another great gift for those in need is a one-time or monthly contribution to KCP&L’s Dollar-Aide Program. For more than 30 years, Dollar-Aide has helped thousands of families pay their heating, cooling and water bills during financially pressing times. Currently, KCP&L matches 50 cents for every dollar donated by the public to the Dollar Aide program. Since 1982, KCP&L has provided $4.6 million to support customers in financial need with this program.
